THURSDAY, (Rescheduled for September 23rd, 2010) - 13th ANNUAL BOB BOBO MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT - Play a round of golf and enjoy dinner with the Hot Stover's and our many friends of South Jersey baseball as we honor the memory of club member Bob Bobo. Proceeds benefit the Hot Stover Scholarship Fund and the South Jersey Baseball Hall of Fame. The golf outing will be held at Golden Pheasant golf course, with a shotgun start at noon. Win a new car (Lexus and/or Toyota)if you get a hole-in-one.....Get to the course early for complimentary coffee and donuts. Summary/Results of the August 13th, 2009 golf outing, as reported by Bill Wagner: To the sixty golfers that made our annual Bob Bobo Memorial golf outing a success (the Hotstovers and I sincerely thank you). Thursday was a nostalgic day for many of the Hotstovers that filled the banquet room at the Golden Pheasant Golf Club – the energy was high, and golf and baseball war stories filled the room – the 30 minute down pour of rain didn’t bother this group – in fact the 9 under foursome of Dana Bobo, Doug Kepple & Steve Van Note and his son, Steve, Jr. - edged out in sudden death the four-some of HOFer’s Bo Gray, Mike Moriarty, Shawn Senior and Mike Koerner for first place low score. Plus, the 290 yard drive by Rich Wilson earned him longest drive of the day. In fact the feeling about the course was that it was in great shape – with the fairways, landscaping and the greens well kept. Special thank you to all hole sponsors, Brain Whilldin of BRANDid, for the"Taylor Made" golf bag, and Norma Kamis, autographed pro football, from the Tampa Bay Bucs, plus other corporations, and the folks that made gift donations. The group of Hotstovers that worked very hard with making the golf outing something special were: Dick “Whip” Wilson, Joe Acquaro, Bob Seddon, John Decosmo, Dave Townsend, Barney McDonough and John Cave – Great job, thank you. Unfortunately we didn’t have any golfers make a hole in one, so both Toyota & Lexus picked up the cars, better luck next year. However, we had Mickie Bobo’s help again and my wife Connie, out on the course taking photo’s – thank you both for adding some extra’s to the day. Hope next year will be as successful.
